5 Things To Do In Phuket, Thailand
April 18, 2017

Phuket has slowly, but surely become one of my most favourite destinations in all of Thailand. It is a place where you can experience a great variety of holidays in one place, this makes it ideal for anybody who wants to mix relaxation, partying and more or less anything else into one holiday destination. Read on to find out some more things that you can do in Phuket.

Visit Patong Beach

Patong Beach is one of the ideal places to base yourself in one of the many luxurious villa rentals in Phuket. I personally got one a little bit out of town and it was well worth it. Patong Beach is without a doubt the most famous beach on the entire island and is full of things to do, as well as the best nightlife on the island. There are a huge number of restaurants, nightclubs, bars and Go Go bars to enjoy. The beach here is also a great place to relax as well as enjoying some great street food.

Big Buddha

This 45 metre tall statue is constructed of white marble and can be viewed from practically anywhere in the southern part of Phuket. The statue itself is great, but my favourite part is the stunning views that you can see from visiting the statue itself. Make sure you pack a wide angle lens for your camera, because you are going to want to capture all of the view!

Phi Phi Island

Phi Phi Island is actually three separate islands, but is most famous for being the filming location for the movie “The Beach”. The famous scene of the beach seen in the movie is exactly what you can experience in this magical place and this place is known as Maya Bay with crystal clear waters, tropical forests and limestone cliffs that are typical of Thailand. The islands are the ultimate exploration and relaxation destination with some of the best beaches in all of Thailand (a pretty big claim!). I personally enjoyed exploring the islands by boat and exploring all the smaller parts of the islands that not everybody gets to see. If you are into some partying the islands also offer a fun option to get out and dance.

Koh Panyi

This is a small but interesting village that is very unusual to visit. This is because the entire village is on stilts underneath one of the enormous limestone cliffs that line the surround area. The village even has a mosque and small healthcare centre! The boat ride to the island itself is well worth it and the places that people live have always fascinated me. People will quite literally live anywhere and this is the perfect example of this!

James Bond Island

This is without a doubt one of the most sought after places in all of Phuket and many visitors to the area are wanting to tick this off their bucket lists. The island’s name comes from the 1974 James Bond movie “The Man With The Golden Gun”. One of the best parts is cruising through the Phang Nga Bay on the way to the island. The amazing sights of the imposing cliffs is something that I will never forget. The island itself is a great place to relax and relive what could possibly be one of your favourite movie moments!
