Friday Finds! and MYBT Week in Review

It’s been a short week on MYBT since I just got back from my trip and started posting again. I want to give a big thank you to all of you loyal readers who are still reading the blog after my long hiatus. I promise that things will get back to normal now so stay tuned for lots of great recipes. I have a delicious sweet treat to share with you on Sunday and lots of other yummy recipes planned for the coming weeks.

Just in case you missed it, I posted two recipes this week:

My All-Time Favorite Salad
Honey Whole-Wheat Bread

I have been so busy traveling and then subbing all week this week that I haven’t had time to keep up with my favorite blogs. I have managed to post some yummy looking recipes to Pinterest so check them out if you follow me on Pinterest. If you don’t have Pinterest, you can find the links below to the recipes that had me saying YUM!

Basil Hummus (from In the Kitchen with Kath) I love hummus and I love pesto so this recipe immediately caught my attention. I can’t wait to try it!

Asparagus Gruyere Tart (from Martha Stewart) I am pretty much sold on any recipe that includes asparagus, eggplant, or broccoli so of course I thought this recipe looked great. Plus it’s super easy and would make a perfect appetizer, side dish, or brunch item!

Roasted Vegetable Enchiladas (from Perry’s Plate) I have never heard of these, but I love that they are loaded with veggies! I love love love roasted veggies…my mouth is watering just thinking about them.

Strawberry Cream Cheese Crumble Tart (from Nick Malgieri) I got to eat TONS of fresh strawberries when I was home. There is a farm stand right near my parents’ house that has some of the best strawberries I’ve ever had. I wish I could get them here in Okinawa to make this delicious looking tart….

Red Wine Chocolate Cake (from Smitten Kitchen) A fellow wine-loving friend shared this recipe with me and I can’t wait to try it. This is going straight to the top of my “to-bake” list.

We’re buckling down for another typhoon. I got delayed leaving for the States because of a typhoon and now we have another one brewing. For three years we didn’t have any and now it seems we’re getting them all the time! I guess that just means I’ll have lots of time to try new recipes this weekend.

Before I end today’s post, I wanted to share a few pictures with you from our road trip.

We took a detour to see Sedona, AZ. If you've never been, it's spectacular and definitely worth the trip.

I got to mark Okinawa on the map at the place where we ate dinner. Surprisingly, there were two other pins marked on Okinawa!

Question: What type of recipes, or which ingredients, always draw your attention?
